Housing Programs & Services
The Housing Choice Voucher Program (also known as “Section 8”) is administered by the Town of Mamaroneck PHA. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provides rental assistance to income‐eligible individuals and families. The Town of Mamaroneck Public Housing Agency (PHA) is authorized by HUD to administer 647 vouchers, however limited funding prevents the PHA from issuing all of the vouchers available.
The Section 8 waiting list is now closed. Only 800 pre-applications have been selected for placement on the waiting list. Results of the lottery are available online now. Your status will only be provided online at www.waitlistcheck.com. Please do not call the Town of Mamaroneck for status information.
If you see that your status is Inactive that means that your pre-application was not selected in the lottery.
If you see that your status is Active, your pre-application was selected in the lottery and has been placed on the waiting list. You may now create an AssistanceCheck account by going to www.assistancecheck.com and using the PIN specified on your application receipt. This will allow you to update information including legal & mailing addresses and family composition online. Any mail sent to you by the Town of Mamaroneck that is returned to us will result in your removal from the waiting list.
Due to limited funding available for housing vouchers, the Town of Mamaroneck cannot give an estimated time frame for when you will be contacted to submit the full application and required documentation.
The Cambium Workforce Housing Rentals, located at 10 Byron Place in Larchmont, are new to the market. Click on the link to the left for detailed information. These rental units are available only to households earning no more than 80% of the median income for Westchester County based on household size. Applications for The Cambium are being accepted now for 1 and 2 bedroom units. Please contact Allan Wolfson for more information and to view the available apartments.
The Hommocks Park Apartments complex, located on the corner of the Boston Post Road and Weaver Street is an affordable housing development managed by Gramatan Management. These townhouse-style units each have washer/dryer hook-ups and an individual garage. Additional parking is available on site for tenants and guests. Tenants are responsible for paying all of their utilities. Apartments of varying sizes are available including 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom with loft, 2 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with loft. Lofts are not permitted to be used as a bedroom. For information on general availability, please call 914-654-1414. The Hommocks Park Apartments complex also has 13 units set aside for Housing Choice Voucher holders, administered by the Town of Mamaroneck PHA.
Marina Court, located at 422 E. Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, has one 1 bedroom and one 2 bedroom affordable units.
The current 2017 rents are as follows. Tenants pay heat, cooking gas, electricity, water heating and water usage.
1 bedroom: $1,638 per month plus utilities
2 bedroom: $2,057 per month plus utilities
Initial occupancy expected in October 2017.
